Job Function:

CAD Designer to support dlhBOWLES automotive projects. The employee’s primary responsibility will be routing, updating and releasing hose assemblies in customer CAD systems using best practice routings and components, meeting both internal and customer standards. Primary work location will be GM’s VEC, but local travel to surrounding GM plants and facilties may be required to support the design development process.

Organizational Relationships:

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Supervises: None, but works with multiple associates

Job Requirements:

· Education: Associate Degree in CAD, with emphasis on design and part packaging

· Experience: 2 years minimum experience in automotive industry

· Experience in NX 11 and Teamcenter 11; ideal candidate has experience with GM design release processes and engineering change process

· Proficiency with Communication software:

  • MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Skype and WebEx

Desireable Qualifications:

· Experience with Plastics and Rubber and assembly methods

· Knowledge of hose or cable routing

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong Collaborator that can work as part of a design team, or be tasked independently

· Passionate customer focus and drive to meet deadlines

Job Responsibilities:

Standard Work:

· Perform CAD support on-site at OEM or from a remote location

· Perform routing of washer hoses and fluid delivery lines in NX

· Creating, updating and releasing CAD files and drawings into customer Team Center

· Build environmental packaging files by browsing the VAS and via clearance filters

· Check 2D and 3D CAD models for compliance to customer standards, such as interference and minimum clearance conditions

· Update and monitor Tracking Vehicles in the VAS

· Create design proposals for new systems and quote opportunities

· Work closely with customer release engineers and dlhBOWLES Project Engineering team

· Attend and actively participate in both internal and customer development meetings

Other work:

· Support Prototype assembly plant build events

· Complete special assignments as required

· Limited Local Travel as needed
